Our 4 Tenets form Our Core

Peace, Strength, and Unity, are all great needs of these challenging times for God's people to sustain spiritual stamina. AUCI is built for Outreach to share the Gospel of Jesus and called to be bold in proclaiming Jesus Christ.

These are relevant, revolutionary, and reassuring. Embracing, celebrating, and accepting them as part of our spiritual family fabric and ethic is so critical, attained only through prayer and devotion rooted in glad-hearted faith and obedience. Each in itself has an insurmountable value within the family and in the church life.

These define and refine us over time as church, congregation, and community as we pursue a future filled with God’s glory.

1. One God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe -

• In God the Father, creator of the universe.

• In God the Son, Jesus Christ, the eternal Word, the one and only Savior; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, both fully human and fully divine; Who lived a sinless life; Who suffered and was crucified as an atonement for sin; Who rose again bodily from the dead on the third day; Who ascended into Heaven; and Who will return in victory to rule forever.

• In the Holy Spirit: who convicts of sin; Who indwells every Christian; Who helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us in prayer; and Who empowers us to a victorious Christian life.

2. Good News — the cross of Jesus changes everything.

We believe -

• That man, created by God, willfully sinned against God and is consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.

• That salvation—the forgiveness of sins—is only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ.

• That one receives salvation by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, and confessing Christ, and that the Bible commands every believer in Christ to be baptized.

• That those who have received salvation through faith in Jesus Christ are sent into the world to proclaim the Gospel and to love and serve the world just as Jesus Himself did.

3. The Bible—God’s perfect, pure, and sure Word.

We believe -

• God's Word is living seed, which has power to bring forth fruit in the lives of believers (Luke 8:11). It furnishes believers with all they needed for faith and life.

• The life of the Word is no less than the life of God Himself. It is ordered and applied to the accomplishment of His purposes. (Hebrews 4:12)

• The Bible is alive and eternal. God intended His Word to be everything - righteous and stands forever sure as truth unchanging and unchangeable. (Mal 3:6; Ps. 119:89; Ps. 19:9)

• The Bible is trustworthy, perfectly complete, and the final authority with no admixture of falsehood or error. (Psalm 19:7–9)

• The Word is free from all corruption and a pure light whose rays pierce to the depths of man's darkness.

• The Bible teaches that God ordained marriage an exclusive relationship between one man and one woman with oneness of heart, requiring to live the principles of the gospel, and destined it as an eternal partnership. (Matthew 19:5)

4. The Church—God’s people on mission.

We believe -

• In the Church of Jesus Christ, consisting of all Christians everywhere, and organized into local units, called churches.

• The Bible teaches that every Christian should be an active member of a local church.

• The Bible instructs church members to:

1. Meet together regularly for fellowship, worship, teaching, and the Holy Communion.

2. Use our natural abilities and spiritual gifts to serve one another.

3. Love one another, bear with one another, accept one another, and forgive one another.

4. Seek unity, agreement, and peace with one another.

5. Bear one another's burdens and pray for one another.

6. Spur one another to love and good deeds.

7. Submit to the authority of the elders of the church.

8. Support the church financially.

9. Pursue personal holiness and obedience to God's Word.

10. Strive together to fulfill the Great Commission.
